2 rooms apartment

An apartment on the second floor of the cooperative in Mattenstraße is currently being vacated. As a cooperative, we are looking for new residents who would like to live here with us. The apartment is part of a complex of five houses that are both spatially and organizationally connected and surround an open courtyard. The residents of the houses live in smaller communities and shared apartments, but we all participate together in the organization of the work around the houses. The cooperative is organized into working groups that meet 1–2 times per month or, if necessary, more often. At least once a month, a meeting of all residents who share the living spaces takes place. Everyone who participates in the meetings has the opportunity to discuss various topics or contribute their own ideas. This apartment consists of two rooms, which can be used as two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a balcony with a view of the courtyard. One room offers a view of the street. The heating is provided by wood, which is ordered every year; there is a small wood stove in both rooms. Costs The rent for the apartment is 700 CHF per month. – Wood: 400 CHF per year – Electricity: approx. 1,000 CHF per year (this amount fluctuates frequently) The costs also include shares that must be replaced, as people moving out of the apartment take their share with them. This amount is 15,000 CHF. With this money, new residents of the apartments become members of the cooperative. The money is deposited into a bank account and may not be touched by anyone or used for speculation. If someone leaves the cooperative, the money is repaid as soon as a replacement is found.
