Hey! We are looking for a third person for our shared apartment in Birsfelden!

We are renting a room of approx. 11.5 m² in our beautiful, bright 4-room apartment (88 m²) on the 12th floor of a high-rise building in Birsfelden, directly near Basel.

IMPORTANT: THE ROOM IS RENTED UNFURNISHED! The furniture in the room photos is for illustrative purposes only. You can also find a floor plan of the apartment among the images.

The apartment:

Our apartment features a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a cozy living room, a bathroom with a bathtub, a separate guest toilet, and an approx. 8 m² balcony with a beautiful view. We especially enjoy beautiful sunsets here in winter.

The common rooms are furnished and the kitchen is equipped with everything one needs in everyday life – from plates and cutlery to the usual kitchen utensils. So you basically only have to furnish your own room.

Since we are currently redesigning the living room a bit, it will look somewhat different than in the photos.

In the building, there is also an elevator as well as washing machines and dryers that can be used free of charge. Bicycle parking spaces are also available.

The location:

The apartment is located in a green and quiet area of Birsfelden. Directly nearby are the Kraftwerkinsel, the Rhine, and many beautiful walking and cycling paths. By bicycle, you can reach the city via the Birs in a short time.

The surroundings are pleasantly quiet and family-friendly. At the same time, you are well connected and have everything important within easy reach.

Who we are:

I am Axenia, studied chemistry and moved to Basel in the summer. Currently, I work at Roche and am mostly out and about during the week until about 4–5 PM.

I am an open, communicative person, enjoy meeting new people, and always look forward to interesting conversations. At the same time, I enjoy having some peace after work, doing something for myself, or simply relaxing. I like doing yoga, playing piano, and I eat vegan – but of course, you don't have to live vegan!

Berta comes from Spain and moved in in September to study Drug Science at the University of Basel.

We mainly speak English to each other, occasionally also Spanish. I also speak German, Romanian, and Russian. So it is quite multilingual with us, and we look forward to people from different countries and with different backgrounds.

Berta and I have gotten to know each other really well since her move-in and get along very well. We would like to maintain exactly this pleasant atmosphere.

How we live together:

We are not looking for a pure Zweck-WG (shared flat for convenience), but a home where one feels comfortable, communicates openly with each other, and perhaps even friendships develop over time.

But for us, this does not mean that we constantly have to do something together. We both like to do our own thing and respect the privacy and peace of the others. At the same time, we look forward to spontaneous conversations in the kitchen, a shared evening, or occasional joint activities.

We like a rather quiet living atmosphere. Having friends visiting is of course completely fine, but we are not a shared flat where parties take place every weekend.

Cleanliness and respectful handling of the apartment are particularly important to us.

We wish for someone who takes independent responsibility, cleans up after themselves, and handles the shared furniture and items with care.

For the major apartment cleaning, we prefer a fixed distribution of tasks instead of constantly changing cleaning schedules. For example, one person mainly takes over the bathroom, another the floors. For everyday tasks like taking out the trash, we take turns. But we are open to new ideas and want to find a solution together that works for all fu
