Room in a shared flat

From mid-October 2026, I am moving into a special maisonette apartment in the middle of the Winterthur Altstadt. What is still missing? Someone with whom sharing a home feels good: laughing together, philosophizing about life once in a while, supporting each other – and just as naturally closing the door and having time for oneself.

Your room
Your unfurnished, 14 m² large room is located on the lower floor. It has a beautiful laminate floor, daylight, and a view of the neighboring old town roofs. I occupy the upper floor. This way, everyone has their own retreat area.
The apartment offers 76 m² on two floors. We use the kitchen, dining and living area, as well as the bathroom together. The washing machine and tumble dryer are located directly in the apartment.
And then there is also the 15 m² large terrace: space for the first coffee, visitors for an apéro, a book in the fresh air, and conversations where you eventually realize it has long since become dark. With a view over the roofs and into the courtyard – right in the middle of the city.
The apartment is located at Schmidgasse 3 and has a bicycle cellar. Cafés, restaurants, shopping facilities, and old town life are right at the doorstep; the main station is easily reachable on foot.

With whom you would be living
I am 49, project manager, divorced, and have no children. For the last 4 years, I was in a great 4-person shared apartment, but unfortunately a bit too far from the city. I enjoy doing sports, spend a lot of time with friends, and also enjoy having visitors. Open relationships are part of my life. I mention this because a natural handling of different lifestyles is important to me. For our shared apartment, I wish for a friendly coexistence.
I like conversations that go beyond "How was your day?", enjoy philosophizing, and find it beautiful when people are there for each other in everyday life. And if something breaks down: As an electrician and IT specialist with a passion for craftsmanship, I can repair or assemble quite a few things. However, this does not come with a guarantee of lifelong IT support. 😉

How I imagine our shared apartment
I wish for a personal, uncomplicated 2-person shared apartment. Eating together sometimes, doing something spontaneously, or hanging out on the terrace. At the same time, we both have our own lives, our contacts, and our personal space. Your visitors are always welcome.
Your age is secondary to me. I am a non-smoker; whether you smoke does not decide whether we fit together. Much more important to me are mutual consideration, being able to address things openly, and the feeling of being at home.
