Room in a shared flat

Concerne: Furnished room for rent in a private home, 13.8 m2 in Marly, 450 CHF/month, available from 01.07.2026 / Sex of tenant: Female Dear student, dear apprentice, dear lady (each of Christian faith), We are a retired Christian couple living in our semi-detached house at Route du Roule 65, 1723 Marly. Our adopted daughter, Marrina, 23 years old, born in Togo, having obtained Swiss nationality, is a laboratory technician in chemistry and works in the canton of Neuchâtel. She has kept her main residence with us where she spends her weekends. As an electronic and mechanical engineer, I myself worked and taught as a professor of electronics at the University of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg. My wife Christiane was very active in the field of elderly care. Before settling in Marly, we lived for about 17 years in the canton of Zug. Since 1993, we have had the opportunity to always rent one or two rooms in our accommodation to young students or trainees (engineers, architects, Bachelor/Master HES, Uni) of Christian faith. The 13.8 m2 room is located on the first floor, south side, and is part of our apartment. It does not have a direct entrance from the outside. The rent is 450.- CHF per month, including Wifi. The minimum contract duration is 6 months with a preference, if possible, for one year. If you are looking for contact with our family, my wife, our adopted daughter, and myself, there is the possibility of taking meals with us, but this is at your discretion and is not part of the rental. We do this free of charge if it is moderate, i.e. on average 3 times a week, when we are present during the week. An external parking space is also made available free of charge. However, you will be responsible for clearing the snow in winter, i.e. on average about 3 times a year. With the room, you have access to the kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, a small personal fridge in the basement, and in summer, you can also enjoy a large south-facing terrace. For each laundry, in addition to the monthly rent, we charge a flat rate of 3.50 CHF per machine (+ 1.50 CHF for the dryer if used) and the corresponding detergent remains the responsibility of the tenant. The toilet, shower or bath are also located on the first floor, near the room. Our accommodation is located in a quiet neighborhood, 3.5 km from the School of Engineers and the University of Pérolles and 4.5 km from Fribourg train station. Migros, Aldi, Lidl, and Coop, as well as other shops, are nearby. The bus stop is a maximum of 3 minutes' walk and serves many lines every 8 minutes. After sharing part of our family life (3 children, including 2 married and 5 grandchildren), our current very young tenant will vacate the room on June 30, 2026.
