Room in a shared flat

The room: The room is approx. 23 m² in size and is located in the basement with windows facing west, so you can benefit from the evening sun. Since it is partially below ground level, it remains pleasantly cool in the summer. Currently, the room is furnished. It would be nice if the new roommate could become acquainted with the existing furniture. Thanks to the blackout curtains, the room can be completely darkened. Another advantage is the quiet location within the house: the rest of the living area is located on the ground floor, so the room is somewhat shielded from family life. Additionally, there is the possibility of accessing the room directly via the laundry room. Technically, the room is excellently equipped: telephone connection, TV, Chromecast, LAN connection, and WLAN are available. The internet connection is via fiber optics with 10 Gbit/s up- and download. Our cat uses the path through your room to the boiler room as an entrance and exit. You should therefore have nothing against occasional animal visits. Who we are looking for: We are looking – for a fixed or indefinite period – for a female or male roommate, ideally about our age or younger, who is not looking for classic flatshare (WG) life. You are an independent person who manages your daily life autonomously, but at the same time would also like to be part of an open and warm family. If you come home later one time, it does not bother you that we might already be finished with dinner and you are sitting alone at the table. On weekends, you can keep yourself well occupied and also feel comfortable when we are away with our caravan. At the same time, you are cordially invited to get actively involved. We always have an open ear for your concerns and look forward to uncomplicated and respectful interaction with one another. Perhaps our children and you will even develop a special friendship – then living together can become even more family-like. Perhaps you will occasionally accompany us on an excursion or spend time playing with the children. Since you will be our first subtenant, we have no rigid ideas of what living together should look like. After three years with au pairs, we know how enriching an additional person in the household can be, but of course, we do not want to compare this role with a subletting relationship. We are open, flexible, and curious to see how living together will develop. Who we are: We are an open and hospitable family with two children (boy, 6 years, and girl, 4 years). In the past three years, we have each had an au pair with us. However, since both children will be attending kindergarten from August, we can no longer offer an au pair position on a full-time basis. Sarah (38) is currently working 100% as a housewife, while Didi (42) works in the IT industry in Zürich. Sarah's interests: Cooking, baking, reading, skiing, and camping Didi's interests: Fire brigade, motorcycling, cars, technology, smart home, garden, skiing, and camping The living room, the kitchen, the entrance area, and the hallway were completely renovated this summer. The rest of the house is still largely in the original style from 1967. This includes, among other things, an older bathroom with a bathtub and toilet as well as a separate guest toilet. The room in the basement is one of the larger rooms in the house. The other rooms are located on the ground floor and are rather compact. An office with a large table can be shared if needed, for example, for home office. Our cozy seating area on the south side offers sun all day long. If you would like to tend to your own vegetable garden, you have come to the right place – we are happy to leave you free with it.
