La Collective seeks its residents: housing for senior women

Join an engaged and intergenerational space in the heart of Geneva! 4 apartments of 50m2 are available from May 2027 for senior women at La Collective, an unprecedented place dedicated to gender equality issues.

The project

A unique location in the central district of Plainpalais, La Collective is a space dedicated to gender equality issues. From its opening in 2027, La Collective will offer services and activities for women and gender minorities and will bring together in its premises a café-restaurant, the Filigrane library, the EsP-ace Santé Femmes*, a digital space, a daycare center, cultural activities, offices for associations, as well as housing.

Supported by the Fondation pour l'égalité de genre, La Collective places diversity, inclusivity, and social connection at the heart of its project. The housing is designed to embody these values, offering a living environment conducive to meetings, exchanges, and the creation of a supportive community.

Residents will find both private, comfortable, and secure housing, as well as shared spaces promoting discovery, living together, and involvement in the life of the place.

Living at La Collective implies an engagement in the community dynamics, both within the residential floors and at the building scale. Residents will be invited to adhere to the charter of living together (provisional version attached) and to get involved in turn within a commission bringing together all the stakeholders of the place (associations, residents, library, daycare, café manager, etc.).

A social coordinator will have the mission to animate the community of residents and to strengthen their links with the associations active within La Collective and the activities they offer.

The housing The left wing of the La Collective building is partly dedicated to housing, accessible from a private entrance, located at 4, rue Pearl-Grobet-Secrétan. The apartments are distributed over the first 4 levels and total 20 individual dwellings, organized as follows:

12 dwellings managed by the association Aux 6 Logis which offers temporary accommodation solutions for women, with or without children (maximum stay of 18 months);

4 studios for female students;

4 apartments for seniors.

Each level includes:

1 studio for a female student;

1 3-room apartment intended for a senior woman;

3 apartments for women accompanied by Aux 6 logis.

The landings include communal laundries for all dwellings or storage spaces intended for the association Aux 6 logis (every other floor).

Common spaces:

? On the 5th floor: a dining room with equipped kitchen of 50 m2 is made available to the 20 residents and the Aux 6 logis team.

? On the 5th floor: a 40 m2 rooftop terrace is accessible to the residents, to be shared with the professionals of La Collective (associations, daycare, restaurant).

Typology of senior apartments:

The 4 apartments intended for seniors have an identical configuration:

? approximately 50 m2 ,

? one bedroom,

? one shower room,

? one equipped kitchen semi-open to the living room (with refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, 2 cooking plates).

Each dwelling also benefits from a private cellar of 3 m2 and access to the collective bike room, both located in the first basement and accessible by elevator.

Legal framework of rentals:

5-year renewable lease agreement, with the charter of living together to be signed in the appendix.
